Part Ten: The Cosmic Game

From the title you may jump to the conclusion that the following is also idiotic somniloquy.

Perhaps you have once received a letter from a stranger, asking you to send one dollar to each of the persons listed. Meanwhile, you are to make ten copies of the same letter and enclose in each a list of names, on which you have crossed out the first name and written at the end of the list your own name. Then you mail the letters to ten friends or strangers. By doing so, you will get a considerable amount of money. My daughter told me the game is called chain-letter. Though unhealthy, it is still a kind of game in this world.

In the universe there are similar games, some of which have existed even for thousands of years. We may call it the cosmic game which involve participants not through the medium of letters but through what we call "the message of the cosmos". Stories of certain sages becoming immortal in a remote mountain or wilderness are actually accounts of cosmic message communication which is conducted through things or events of the Nature. With the development of modern science and technology, cosmic message can also be conveyed through books, tapes and telecommunication systems. Who are the receivers? The message is classified into two kinds. The first kind is directed to awaken those associated with Christ, Allah or Buddha. The second is directed to call out the God within you. People all have receivers for cosmic messages inside the body. So everyone of us can play this game. You are bound to be involved in the game once called upon by the cosmic message as the game is like the chain-letter. What are the benefits of this game? To tell you the truth, the fact all rests upon this game that mankind progresses all the way in the course of rationality, harmony and civilization. In ancient times there were great players of this game, such as Sakyamuni, the Prophet Mohammed and Jesus Christ. Great players also exist in modern times. If you often attend religious services, you will notice who these players are.

Whoever the players are, the methods are the same. After receiving the cosmic message they will convey it to thousands of others. In the past the receipt of the cosmic message is called "to have acquired the creed or doctrine". To convey the message to others is to preach. Whatever you call it, there does exist such a thing as cosmic message. Unlike the chain-letter, the players feel they cannot refrain from this game. For the well-being of mankind, they regard it as their obligation to play the game.
