两极哲理之(十二)两极哲理的方

有人问我,是不是想把两极哲理发展成为宗教?要回答这个问题,就必须先了解两极哲理的出处、用途、效果,及客观条件等问题,才能做出答复。
  

笔者认为两极哲理是取自生活、用于生活的哲理。更明确的说,两极哲理不同于任何宗教,他乃独树一帜,人人都可以运用之。应该说有的人已经在运用,为何这么说?君不见有的人乐于济贫助弱,不就是善性前极吗?只是他们用得不知不觉罢了。两极哲理只不过是笔者将其行成文字,而成为一册有系统的哲理,以供人们参考使用。说到运用两极哲理,就好似武侠小说里的武林秘笈被发现一样,他是非正宗的武功,很容易走火入魔,因此需要正统宗教的传统内功(即指宗教的戒律道理及仪式等)的协助,才不会引火自焚,所以两极哲理应该与宗教相辅相成,从而互相获益。在效力方面,目前的宗教大小派系及其支流派系多得像天上的星星一样数不清,倘若两极哲理再成为宗教,也只不过是在天空里多了颗小星星,放发不出光芒,是多么的没意思及没意义。我们说两极哲理应是独树一帜的人类宝藏,两极的方向更是不偏不倚,她只需继续充实使其完整,更富积极的意义,必能供人类使用。她决不是也不能走向宗教;这个独具特色的哲理可以借鉴宗教系统包括教义、戒律、仪式等来相辅相成。
  

谈到宗教我想到它的发展趋式。古代由于交通不发达技术刚发展等因素,宗教以语言传播就成为最有效力的方法了,无形中造成了不同宗教各占一方的局面。近代随着文化水准的提高,通讯的发达,科技的日新月异,世界也就变得越来越小了,不同宗教也因此有机会互相的交流,因此由宗教扩散而引起的冲突在若干年前时有所闻,如新加坡在五、六十年代道教与佛教就经常与基督教引起瓜葛。但也因为各宗教不同信仰的互相扩散,才能使它们更进一步地互相了解。斯里拉马奎施纳( SRI RAMAKRISHNA 1836--1886 )等人在约一百五十年前就悟倡了各种宗教信仰均是殊途同归的结论。斯里拉马奎施纳在其一生中始终不逾地追求印度教、伊斯兰(回教)和基督教的信仰,世人都赞同他达到了很高的修行境界。目前传播各种宗教信仰均是殊途同归的讯息还有清海无上师及其他组织,据说她也达到很高的修行境界,
在西方及世界各地都有很多她的追随者。这个组织也为世界的天灾人祸提供援助,值得赞扬。
 

借宗教的发展来分析,从以前认为只有自己的宗教才能达到信仰目标(即得到好的修行境界及上天堂),发展到现在的各种宗教信仰均是殊途同归的进展,不是有了飞跃的进步了吗?那么宗教还会有怎样的演变呢?是不是只要你有高尚的品德,都能与宗教信仰殊途同归呢?倘若是的话,那两极哲理就有其实用的价值与地方了。
  

任何事物都有它的底子(取自实验名词 BACKGROUND)。譬如在很好的环境下培养细胞,但还是有少数细胞在短期内死亡,这个在短期内细胞死亡的数目在实验室里即称为BACKGROUND。以全民就业来说,在美国是指只有约百分之四的人民失业,在新加坡是指约百分之零点五的人民失业。这百分之四与零点五就成为美国及新加坡全民就业的底子了。各宗教经过漫长的几千年传播之后,估计全世界还有百分之十五到二十五的人没有真正的信仰,这十五到二十五的百分比可说是宗教信仰的底子了。那么属于这底子的无信仰者要何去何从呢?两极哲理在各篇章已经说明是与宗教殊途同归,是不是两极哲理也可以帮助这无信仰者向善向上,使无信仰者亦能获得和宗教一样的修行,为人类千万年后的文明做出贡献呢?
  

总之,两极哲理不能成为宗教,她的任务是与各宗教相辅相成,并做为人们生活中的一种处事哲学,为人类的文明做出贡献。

Part Twelve: The Orientation of the Law of Event(s) upon Event

I was once asked whether I intended to develop LEE into a religion. To answer this question, we must first know the origin, function, effects and the objective conditions of this law.

In my opinion, this law is a philosophy which comes from daily life and also finds application in daily life. To be more specific, different from any religion, LEE is an unique philosophy that can be used by everyone in the human society, and, as a matter of fact, it has been applied by many of us, though some have subconsciously put it into practice when they created starting events such as helping the poor and the weak. What I have done is merely putting it systematically in the form of a book for the reference of future generations. In terms of application, it is like a treasured private copy of a rare book on unique martial arts, which can easily drive one crazy if not assisted by orthodox martial arts. LEE, likewise, needs to be supported by the admonishments, creeds and rituals of religions. They assist and complement each other.

For the time being, the immense number of religions is like the innumerable stars in the sky. Such being the case, it is insignificant or even meaningless for LEE to develop into another religion, which seems to be no more than adding another little star to the entire galaxy. Hence the orientation of this law remains that it will develop into a complete, comprehensive and constructive philosophy for the well-being of mankind. It cannot, and will never become a religion. You may agree that the trends in the development of religions, to a great extent, rest upon the means of communication. In the olden days, owing to the under development of technology, the most effective means for the propagation of religion have been speech and written language. Such a way of propagation has restricted religions within certain geographical regions, each controls its own respective territory. With the development of modern technology, particularly that of communications, the world is becoming smaller and different religions thus have the opportunity to interact with one another. In the course of interactions, harmony and strife intermingle. For instance, in Singapore in 1950s - 60s, Taoism and Buddhism were frequently at discord with Christianity. Fortunately, the interactions, positive and negative, have promoted the mutual understanding among religions. Sri Ramakrishna (1836 - 1886) reached a conclusion as early as 150 years ago that "religions all lead to the same goal". Sri Ramakrishna steadfastly sought after various beliefs all his life, such as Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. He is believed by his followers to have reached a very high level in his search for religious beliefs. Presently the most successful disseminators of this message - religions all lead to the same goal, are the Qinghai Supreme Master and her followers. It is said she has reached a very high level of success, having followers all over the world. Here, a word of praise for her organisation, which often provides relief to disaster areas.

From a religious point of view, it is a great leap forward for religions to march from the stage of over-weening to the belief that all religions lead to the same goal. What other changes will religions undergo? If everyone with lofty moral virtues achieves the same goal of religions, then LEE will prove to you as a highly practical philosophy.

Everything has its own "background" (a term used in laboratories). For instance, however favorable the conditions under which cells are cultivated, a small number of cells will still die within a short period of time. The number of dead cells is referred to as "background" in laboratory terms. To apply the term to unemployment, the background is respectively about 4% and 0.5% in the U.S. and Singapore. Through thousands of years of propagation, there remains the background of 15 - 25% of the world’s population has no religious beliefs. To what goal will this background move? If it is striving towards the same goal of religions, then, LEE may direct these atheists to do good deeds, and eventually enable them to achieve the same goal as set by religions.

In short, LEE will never become a religion. Its goal has been, and remains to provide people with a correct philosophy of life, and to contribute to the civilization and well-being of mankind. It seeks ultimate aim for a complementary relationship with different religions.
